• Volunteers in Partnership logo and application button For close to 20 years, the Blue Valley School District has been placing caring adults in our schools to enrich the lives of our students. These adult volunteers meet with students, individually or in a small group, one hour a week in various capacities. Our volunteers are Very Important People. They have the opportunity and ability to influence our students to strive for greater success. The VIP Volunteers in Partnership school-based volunteer program offers many opportunities to positively impact the youth of our community, including:

    • Meet with students for lunch and/or play games;

    • Listen to individuals or small groups of children reading;

    • Assist teachers in classrooms;

    • Tutor students in various academic areas; or

    • Volunteer at the Wilderness Science Center.

    Educating the youth of Blue Valley is a collaborative partnership. Businesses, community patrons, parents and teachers work together to provide a learning environment for our youth to succeed at unprecedented levels. Research shows that volunteers help kids succeed and that students with adult volunteers feel more connected to school. Their confidence improves and their self-esteem blossoms. When students feel good about themselves, the possibilities are endless.

    VIP Volunteers are needed throughout the year to share their special skills and talents with students. Anyone who has an interest in education and helping students is welcome to apply to volunteer. VIP Volunteers include parents, retirees, business professionals, members of the military, civic leaders, college students and other caring community members.
