UPDATE ON COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

  • COVID-19 Policy Update

Kansas Department of Education’s (KSDE) Navigating Change, adopted by the Blue Valley Board of Education on August 18, 2020, expires May 28, 2021. KSDE’s Navigating Change provided guidance to Kansas school districts as students returned to learning for the 2020-2021 school year.

As a result, the district no longer has a policy in place related to COVID-19 and would like staff and families to be aware of the following updates that begin June 1, 2021, and will continue throughout the 2021-2022 school year.

    • Masks will not be mandated, but will be highly encouraged inside Blue Valley buildings for those individuals who have not been fully vaccinated.
    • Masks are optional for fully vaccinated individuals.
    • Masks are optional for all students and staff during outdoor activities.

In addition, Blue Valley School District will not be collecting COVID-19 vaccination information for students as part of the school enrollment process. COVID-19 vaccination is not a requirement for employment, school enrollment or attendance.

The district remains committed to making health and safety a priority. Look for more information about mitigation efforts prior to the start of the school year.
