Recommended Summer Work for Advanced Algebra

  • Start Strong in Advanced Algebra
For many students, Advanced Algebra is their first college level math course. Getting use to the pace and high expectations of Advanced Algebra is challenging. The best way to prepare for this challenge is to spend time this summer practicing and solidifying your current understanding of Algebra. You may be planning to take this class for college credit.

To do this, you must place into the class by taking the COMPASS test. (We will spend class time helping and teaching you how to enroll in JCCC. There is no need to start enrollment over the summer. All you need to do over the summer to prepare for Advanced Algebra is to practice your Algebra skills.) The pdfs below are reviews provided by JCCC to help students study and prepare for the COMPASS test. Regardless of whether or not you plan on earning college credit for Advanced Algebra next year, you should spend time this summer working through the reviews provided below.
