BACK TO SCHOOL
Sneak Peek is August 16 from 4:30-6 p.m. Student class placements will be available by 4:00 on August 16th. To see your teacher's name online at 4:00, plan to log in to your Parent VUE account. If you do not have your userid for Parent VUE, please call the school office and we can provide that to you! To limit capacity, we will create time blocks for your family to visit. We welcome your family to the school to meet your child's new teacher, drop-off school supplies and sign-up for PTO activities. We are excited to see you all there!
MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT
This is an evening intended for parents only. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the staff and learn about the classroom procedures and curriculum. You will also find out how you can help your child's class. Date to be determined.
NEW STUDENT TOUR
We have many new families who will be joining the LVE community for the first time this year. In addition, we have families who participated in remote learning for the entire year last year so their children did not enter our building. We would like to give you a special invitation to come in and tour the Liberty View campus. This will help your child get to know where the main office is, where the lunch commons are, what the playground looks like, where the restrooms are and where the nurse's office is located. This is an exciting but important opportunity to get the 'lay of the land' so that the first day of school, being back on campus, will be a successful one. This opportunity is open to students and their families who are going into first through fifth grade who are not already familiar with our building. Date to be posted next week. New kindergarten students will have a special opportunity- see below.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
The first day of school is August 18. School hours are from 8:35 a.m. - 3:40 p.m. We have a number of greeters, including four staff in the circle drive, three more staff in the front hallway and teachers at their doors warmly welcoming students to school each morning, making sure they start the school day with a smile, hug or high-five. We encourage you to practice a "have great day at school" ritual at home, letting your child know you will be wishing them well all day and have confidence in them and the school staff to take it from there!
As an opportunity to introduce ourselves to our newest Eagles, we will be hosting a kindergarten orientation for those children on the first day of school. On August 18th, students will participate in a modified day, staying for a brief time. This will allow them to get their bearings, get to know their teacher, and ultimately build their trust and confidence in their learning home. Please look for an opportunity to sign up for your time block to bring your student in. Kindergarten students will move to a full day schedule, starting on August 19th
