Community Service Information

Students need to continue to keep track of their own service hours. There is an optional online journal for students to record their service hours available on the national administrator's website.

The District's annual recognition ceremony honoring the top four qualifying students from each school, as well as schools that participated in the Presidential School of Service Awards for the 2016-17 school year, will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.

The President's Volunteer Service Awards continue to be administered by the Points of Light Foundation in Washington, D.C. You may want to visit their website at   www.presidentialserviceawards.gov/   for updates in the next few months.

NICK AND JAKE'S COMMUNITY SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP: The Blue Valley Educational Foundation will once again offer the Nick and Jake's Community Service Scholarship. In order to be eligible for this award, students must have completed
100 hours of community service and hold a 2.5 GPA. To be considered, qualified students must submit a completed Nick and Jake's Community Service Scholarship Application (please see attached document). Ten $500 scholarships are awarded annually to two students at each of the five Blue Valley high schools for post-secondary education expenses. Deadline for submission is March 25, 2016.
